Food Spectrum adds folding bins to its supply chain

Brisbane-based food ingredients manufacturer Food Spectrum is one of the first CEVA Pallecon customers to introduce the new plastic folding CEVAbin to its supply chain. Spectrum has been a long-term customer and over time has been a regular user of CEVA Pallecon’s liquid IBCs for the movement of honey and other products.

Following a successful trial, Food Spectrum placed its initial order to use CEVAbins to transfer ingredients from its plant to one of its key customers, Mrs Crocket’s, which is Australia’s largest manufacturer and national supplier of freshly prepared and pre-packaged salads to the retail market.

To efficiently manage the movement of equipment between multiple locations, both Food Spectrum and Mrs Crocket’s are using Pallecon’s PalDirect, a web-based transfer system to help control the flow of bins. A closed loop, permanent hire loop exists for the issue and return of empty units between both these users in Brisbane. Food Spectrum also hires bins in Queensland that are later transferred to and de-hired by Mrs Crocket’s distribution centre in Laverton, Victoria.

Both manufacturers are committed to returnable, re-usable packaging solutions to help minimise waste and reduce the environmental impact associated with their respective operations.
