Airbridge to connect food process to distribution centre
Mainbrace Constructions has been appointed to deliver airbridge infrastructure for Hilton Foods in Melbourne, which will connect it to a new Woolworths fresh food distribution centre being built adjacent to the facility.
Hilton Foods leases a facility at Truganina, from which it processes, packages and organises the supply of fresh meat around Victoria for Woolworths. The airbridge will connect the Woolworths and Hilton Foods facilities, with Mainbrace to facilitate the connection on the Hilton Foods side, coordinating the internal link between the airbridge with the existing dispatch area.
Concurrently, Mainbrace has been engaged in a Health Safety, Environment and Quality Supervisory Role for internal works in the Hilton Foods Facility, which are being undertaken by Vanderlande.
Vanderlande originally installed, and is currently servicing and maintaining, the robotics and maintenance equipment within the Hilton Foods facility. As part of the new internal works, Vanderlande will provide an updated platform in the load-out area of the facility.
The $2 million project now moves into the construction management phase and the collaborative program of works is scheduled for completion in 2021.
