The Arnott's Group appoints its Chief People Officer
The Arnott’s Group (TAG) has announced the appointment of Alison Merner as Chief People Officer. In the role, Merner will lead TAG’s People & Culture strategy across Australia and the Asia Pacific, with a focus on building capability, strengthening culture, and supporting the Group’s growth ambitions.
Merner joins TAG from Endeavour Group and formerly Woolworths Group, bringing extensive experience in people & culture strategies.
“With her strong commercial insights, strategic people leadership and inclusive approach, I’m confident Alison will play a pivotal role in the elevating our business through the delivery of a high-impact People & Culture function,” said TAG CEO George Zoghbi.
Commenting on the new role, Merner said, “I’m excited to join The Arnott’s Group — a business with a deep legacy — and to partner with the leaders and teams to foster a culture that enables strong performance with integrity. I look forward to supporting the growth and wellbeing of our people as we continue to expand our brands in Australia and beyond.”
TAG has manufacturing sites in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and South Australia as well as New Zealand, Malaysia and Indonesia. With its headquarters in Sydney, the company employs over 4000 people across the Asia Pacific, and the appointment of Merner is part of some broader leadership changes, including the following:

- Jenni Dill, previously Chief Marketing Officer, has been appointed Chief Growth Officer, responsible for marketing and strategy across Tim Tam, Shapes and Mother Earth in domestic and international markets, as well as Innovation, R&D and Sustainability.
- Matthew Palmer, previously Chief Transformation Officer, is now Managing Director, Snacking International, overseeing TAG’s expansion into key export markets. Palmer is also responsible for the Group’s Indonesian biscuit factory.
