Food tampering under discussion at food safety conference
Detective Inspector Craig McGrath from the Queensland Police Service will be one of the keynote speakers at the APAC Food Safety Conference 2019.
The Operations Manager for the Major and Organised Crime Squad, McGrath played a key role in the discovery of needles in strawberries, a regular feature in Australian news headlines since September last year.
Detective Inspector McGrath's presentation will highlight the significant response to this event, including challenges and recommendations to improve future collaborative responses involving law enforcement, government and industry.
The APAC Food Safety Conference will feature speakers covering a range of issues, such as waste minimisation, food tampering, seafood fraud, food exports and emerging superfoods. The conference offers attendees the opportunity to hear from expert speakers, network and meet other industry professionals.
The conference will be held in Sydney from 20–22 August 2019.
