Solids flow sensor

Tuesday, 31 March, 2009 | Supplied by: SWR Engineering Messtechnik Pty Ltd

FlowJam is a non-contact flow/no flow sensor for solids. It uses a microwave technology to give results under harsh conditions of dust and sunlight. It is suitable for detecting solid flows in hoppers, conveyors, screw conveyors, air slides, etc.

The sensor can be mounted up to 2 m from its target. Because of its microwave technology it can sight through 40 mm build-up of dust. The sensor supply is 24 VDC and has SPDT output contacts.

It has an in-built variable timer to inhibit the output contacts in the event of nuisance stoppages. The sensitivity can be adjusted via a variable control.
