Silvent’s safety silencers are designed to handle sensitive systems with large flows that require minimal flow restriction. The silencers are compact in size, provide effective noise suppression and feature a built-in warning indicator that immediately shows any increase in backpressure in the system.

The ability of the silencers is accomplished by silencing in three steps. Firstly, the turbulence of the air entering the silencer is reduced by a fine-meshed grid. The air then continues into a diffusion chamber, which raises the frequency of the sound and distributes the air stream evenly across the octagonal outer filter; a higher frequency accelerates silencing. Then, the octagonal outer filter slows the speed of the air, thereby lowering the sound level without creating excessive pressure drop.

The safety silencers are also suitable for continuous flow applications and use a central silencer for several pneumatic valves. The octagonal filter material of the silencers can separate out oil mist from within the compressed air system, which can then be drained off through the bottom of the silencer.

The Silvent SIS silencers are available in two sizes; 1 BSP (SIS-10/noise reduction of 42 dB) and 2 BSP (SIS-20/noise reduction of 41 dB).
