Neogen microbiology product range

Cell Biosciences has been appointed as the Australian distributor for Neogen’s range of microbiology products which includes assays for food pathogens, coliforms, generic E. coli, lactics, total plate counts, yeast and mould and the Acumedia brand of dehydrated culture media.

Neogen’s Soleris system is a rapid optical system for the detection of microbial contamination based on an innovative application of classic microbiology familiar to microbiologists. The optical assay measures microbial growth by monitoring pH and other biochemical reactions that generate a colour change as microorganisms in the broth grow and metabolise. The results are displayed by colour-coded monitoring with an alert on samples out of specification.

Other products in the range include the Reveal Food Pathogen Systems for detection of Salmonella, Listeria or E. coli O157:H7 in foods and environmental samples; Iso-Grid and Neo-Grid membrane filtration systems; Colitag, a selective and differential medium for the determination of the presence or absence of total coliforms and E. coli; the disposable Neogen Filter Test System; and Hy-labs agar slides which have been designed to enable reliable, economic and timesaving monitoring of microbiological hygiene.
