A non-destructive leak detection system for rigid or flexible packaging has been released by South Australian company SI Instruments.
The system has an onboard database which connects to a computer via a Bluetooth connection. Data from up to 10,000 tests can be stored for traceability.
The leak detection consists of a transparent vacuum chamber combined with a digital controller. The vacuum chamber gives 360° visibility and allows visual pinpointing of any leak, as well as being a convenient size — internal dimensions are 400 x 300 x 220 mm. Custom-made sizes are also available.
