IP68 keyboards

Sunday, 01 June, 2008 | Supplied by: Backplane Systems Technology Pty Ltd

Backplane has available a range of IP68 keyboards and mouses from InduKey’s InduProof series.

The keyboards have been developed for industries where ease of cleaning or disinfecting is a requirement, such as food manufacturing.

The series has a wear-and-tear-resistant silicone surface with Dura-coating for good mechanical and chemical resistance. The silicone mat is glued to a 3 mm thick aluminium base plate creating an IP68 protection rating, which means it can be submerged in up to 3 m in liquid and is dustproof. High-quality Omron mechanical short travel switches ensure accurate and tactile data input.

Both devices have an extreme operating temperature range of -40 to +90°C.

The series is available in two different interfaces, two PS/2 interfaces (keyboard and mouse-button) or a USB interface.
