Thermal transfer/direct label printer

Wednesday, 01 April, 2009 | Supplied by: Visy Technology Systems

The Mach4 Label Printer utilises direct thermal printing and thermal transfer printing through the use of inked ribbons. Three basic models are available: Mach4-B with label tear-off plate, version P with additional label dispensing, and version C with tear-off plate and label cutter. Three print heads with resolutions of 203, 300 and 600 dpi are offered and these are interchangeable.

The printers are equipped with RS232 and two high-speed slave USB interfaces. An ethernet 10/100Base-T interface suitable for TCP/IP protocol, a slot for an optional Wireless LAN card, or PCMCIA card are also provided.

Label layout is effected either through the use of Mach label software (J-script, or Mach basic compiler — the Mach abc Basic Compiler is embedded as firmware), or directly from a PC. Direct programming in J-script is simple and permits programming as a set of string variables. If a host computer is used then only variable data is required from the host, linkages such as graphics and fonts, being stored on the printer’s onboard memory. Mach provides as standard, Linux, Mac OS and Windows drivers for the creation of totally customised labels on PCs.

Visy Technology System’s Nicelabel software is compatible with the Mach4 label printers.
