Nativia is a biodegradable and compostable packaging film developed from Taghleef Industries, Europe. It is produced from 100% renewable sources; has European certification for compostability; is EU compliant with food contact regulations; and is available in transparent and metallised versions and range of thicknesses.

The bioplastic film is based on poly lactic acid (PLA) resin derived from plants and it is a bi-axial oriented PLA film (BoPLA). It has a standard PLA resin for the core and a heat-sealable PLA for the outer layers.

The film provides good sealing performance and is suitable for a range of applications including fresh produce, bakery, confectionary, snacks, dairy, perishables, lidding, labelling and stationery.
