Continuous melters

PTL has developed an effective range of continuous melters that have been designed to melt chocolate, compound, cocoa butter, cocoa liquor, butter and various other fats that are currently used within the chocolate, biscuit, snack and dairy industries.

Users attain a constant supply of melted product corresponding to the production rate of downstream equipment. The unit melts only what is required, saving product as well as power. The square design offers an efficient use of floor space and is significantly smaller than a traditional kettle, which would require the entire shift’s production to be held in the tank at once. Unlike kettles, there is no delay in the melting process, so access to melted product is not only continuous, but instant.

Manufactured completely in stainless steel, the units consist of a melt head and a melt tank, which have individual heating systems. Blocks of product are placed onto the melt head, which melt into a stirred tank underneath, where molten product is stored until required.

The design evenly disperses heat throughout the melt head, maintaining accurate temperatures and ensuring consistent melting throughout. With the addition of a specially designed device the unit can also thoroughly melt chips and buttons. A hinged top cover fitted with gas struts closes over the blocks to retain heat and prevent contamination during melting.

Full washdown models are available, which are designed for thorough cleaning when changing from one product to another and/or for allergen cleans.

Double head melters are designed to melt two different products simultaneously. Each melt head has its own tank, hood and outlets, offering flexibility when production requires more than one product.
