The ‘Easy Clean Flow’ magnet from Goudsmit Magnetics removes metal particles and weak magnetic stainless steel particles from powders in the food industry. Suitable for large product flows, the separator has a high magnetic flux density of over 12,000 gauss at the contact surface of the bars. The magnet is dust-proof to an overpressure of 0.5 bar and has an electropneumatic controller.

The pneumatic magnetic bars simplify the cleaning process. The magnetic bars are taken outside the product channel, after which the magnets in the bars are blown outwards. A plate then retains the captured metal particles, after which they fall into a collection tray. Sensors detect the position of the new magnets.

After cleaning, the magnets return to their original position and the product flow can be restarted. A connection box enables users to connect and control the magnet via the central control room; a control box with PLC is optional.

The thick, Ø50 mm magnetic bars provide a high separation yield, with a deep holding field and a high flux density, which can capture stainless steel particles. A deflector is fitted to ensure that all particles touch the bars, with a large space between the bars to promote an increase in passage capacity, which is beneficial when it comes to poorly flowing powders.

The modified design is dust-proof, with a cover plate and gasket used to prevent products from escaping to the outside. The side of the magnet has a standard terminal box which enables the connection of sensors and cables; both sides are equipped with inspection hatches for maintenance.
