New partnership to see prebiotic ingredient on ANZ shores
Australia and New Zealand could soon see the well-received prebiotic ingredient Bimuno arriving on their shores. Its producer, Clasado Biosciences, has partnered with Pathway International to eventually allow for the distribution of the product.
Bimuno is a formulation of galacto-oligosaccharide and acts as a prebiotic. It is can be used as an ingredient in manufactured food to boost the beneficial bacteria already in the digestive system. Clasado claims that Bimuno can offer positive impacts to gut health, with subsequent benefits supposedly seen in the body’s immunity and cognitive and mental health.
Clasado and Pathway will work together to see the product registered with the Therapeutic Goods Administration and once approved Pathway will act as the sole distributor for the region.
Bimuno will be available for brands and formulators in powder or syrup formats and it will be possible to add the ingredient to a multitude of recipes, even in the earlier stages of production, as it is stable under heat and acidity.
