Triple gold for Grampions' olive oil

Grampians Olive Co. has won two gold medals and been awarded Champion Best in Class at the recent 2023 Australian International Olive Awards.

Located in the Northern Grampians in Victoria, Grampians Olive Co. is home to the historic ‘Toscana’ Olive Plantation which produces sustainable and certified organic olive oils.

Its cloudy ‘Olio Nuovo Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil’, which is pressed from the first green olives of the season and only available at harvest time each year, was presented with a gold medal award. Described as having a creamy, clean taste, the olive oil was also named a Champion Best in Class at the awards.

The olive grove’s original ‘Signature Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil’ was also awarded with a gold medal award for its “…intensely sweet nose of ripe tropical fruits, subtle floral blossom, peach, and camomile flavours…”.

The Australian International Olive Awards is run annually by the Australian Olive Association and opened to international entries in 2017. Judging is also international with 2023 entries evaluated by expert panels in China, Spain, France, Tunisia, New Zealand and Australia.

In further awards news, Grampians Olive Co. took home a gold medal, a silver medal and a trophy at this year’s Australian Golden Olive Awards. The awards, which allow participants from every state and territory all over Australia to benchmark their products against the very best, named Grampians Olive Co.’s ‘Signature Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil’ a gold medal winner and its late harvest style oil pressed from riper purple olives ‘Delicate Organic Extra Olive Oil’ a silver medal winner.

The ‘Signature Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil’ also won a Trophy for Best Oil from Heritage Trees at the Australian Golden Olive Awards, which is now in its 25th year.

“We’re deeply honoured to have our dedication to quality and passion for producing exceptional olive oils recognised by both the Australian International Olive Awards and the Australian Golden Olive Awards,” said Grampians Olive Co. Owner/Operator Greg Mathews.

“These awards are a testament to the hard work and care we put into every bottle. We cultivate a mix of 27 traditional and rare olive varieties, each adding to the complex taste of our oils.”
