Packaging solutions on display at ProPak Asia 2019

The PackagingTechAsia zone at ProPak Asia 2019, held 12–15 June at BITEC, will showcase over 560 national and international exhibitors, and 1600 packaging solutions.

Sponsored by Better Pack and Clearpack, the PackagingTechAsia zone will offer a range of packaging equipment, from filling machines to case packers, vertical form fill and seal equipment to leak testers, tube filling machines to carton erectors, stainless steel conveyor systems to bagging machines, food packaging and filling equipment to stretch blow moulders.

ProPak Asia is recognised as one of the most reputable packaging shows that allows exhibitors to network with other companies, meet existing customers and showcase their range of packaging solutions to the entire ASEAN region.

A number of long-term exhibitors will be returning in 2019, including Wolf Verpackungsmaschinen and Clearpack, who have been exhibiting in the PackagingTechAsia zone for close to 20 years.

Clearpack will showcase the latest in robotics and automation packaging innovations including 4.0 compliant machines and automated guided vehicles (AGVs), as well as its complete range of filling, capping, labelling, case packaging and palletisers.

“The ASEAN region has recently seen a shift whereby many of the local governments are encouraging businesses to look towards automation, robotics and Industry 4.0 compliant machines for their factory lines. Finding solutions that can automate tasks, allow businesses to turn products around faster and more efficiently and the ability to improve safety and productivity are extremely important to advance the region,” Clearpack (Thailand) Group Vice President Manu Kalra said.

“With businesses also heading to more sustainable solutions, the Clearpack range is flexible and adaptable enough to suit sustainable packaging material requirements. We also have predictive and preventative maintenance programs on our machines to ensure that they are providing the best possible performance at all times. Many of our machines can monitor energy, electricity and air levels, and can help companies to reduce their energy outputs and costs wherever possible against their packaging machinery.”

Wolf Verpackungsmaschinen also plans to showcase two VFFS machines: the EPS II bagger, which is a machine dedicated to the snack and candy industry, and the VPC 250 Doy, which is capable of doing up to 120 doy-style bags per minute on a small footprint. Managing Director Sebastian Wolf said the company can offer solutions for both the high-end market and customers who work on tighter budgets.

The 2019 event will see Coesia’s Norden NML 150 tube filling machine that runs for 150 tubes per minute; the Flexlink Copobal standardised palletising cell from Flexlink, which is compact, quick to install and easy to configure; and the Flexlink X70X, which is a stainless steel conveyor system that is clean, robust and modular.

Finally, Winifred Schiffer, Managing Director at KHS AG (Thailand) Ltd, said: “Our 2019 stand will showcase the new KHS InnoPET Blomax Series V Microstation. The InnoPET Blomax Series V Microstation offers a performance of up to 2500 bph per cavity thanks to the toggle lever, has a minimal footprint due to its compact design, tubular linear direct drive for stretching units and combined stretching and blowing nozzle movement, and the new valve block design provides 10% less blowing air for 500 mL bottles, which minimises dead space air volume.”
