Meet the Makers event gathers Qld food producers

Members of South East Queensland’s food and agribusiness industry are set to gather for the annual Meet the Makers event to show off the region’s food manufacturing abilities.

Put together by the Food & Agribusiness Network (FAN) and now in its fourth year, Meet the Makers will see producers and manufacturers from the Sunshine Coast, Noosa, Gympie, Moreton Bay and other areas from the region showcase their wares at the event.

FAN CEO Emma Greenhatch said that as the region’s only dedicated trade event for food and beverage producers, it would be an ideal networking opportunity for its members and the wider industry.

“The start of this year hasn’t gone as anyone had planned ... so now more than ever it’s time for us to celebrate our region’s amazing growers and makers,” Greenhatch said.

“Meet the Makers 2022 is a wonderful opportunity to showcase, to a wide group of industry buyers and supporters, the amazing array and diversity of products and produce made or grown in South East Queensland.”

Over a hundred exhibitors will be at the event showing off their products for prospective buyers, retailers and distributors, and a networking session will run in the evening for members of FAN, industry supporters, media and other interested parties to mingle.

The Food & Agribusiness Network is a collaborative venture to increase manufacturing across the region and recently became a driving force behind The Turbine Precinct, a manufacturing location on the Sunshine Coast.

The Meet the Makers event takes place on 3 May. Registration details for the event can be found online.
