Marketing without Greenwashing webinar for SMEs
AusIndustry and the Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP) will be hosting a webinar on 31 May to discuss Marketing without Greenwashing.
The webinar will be an opportunity to hear from packaging experts and better understand how to avoid greenwashing in on-pack marketing.
A recent ACCC report on greenwashing by businesses in Australia identified greenwashing as:
- using vague or unclear environmental claims
- not providing sufficient evidence for claims
- setting environmental goals without clear plans for how these will be achieved
- using third-party certifications and symbols in a confusing way.
The webinar will teach SMEs how to avoid falling into what may be perceived as greenwashing in the eyes of regulators and customers.
Topics to be covered at the webinar include:
- Greenwashing
- ACCC Green Marketing Guide
- Plastic Identification Codes
- Green Marketing Principles
- Legal On-pack Labelling Requirements
- On-Pack and Off-Pack Labelling
- Certifications
- ARL — consumer insights
The event will be of interest to SMEs seeking to ensure they are communicating clearly and leveraging the sustainability practices they may already be doing in their businesses.
All of industry is invited to attend.
