ISM Japan postpones 2022 event
ISM Japan has rescheduled its 2022 event into 2023. Originally set to be held in April of 2022, the trade event was set to be the inaugural East Asian wing of the ISM series of events. Now it has been postponed by a year, due in large part to Japan’s borders being shut to non-residents owing to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The show will cover the sweets and snack industry, with an emphasis on Japanese manufacturing. Now being held from 12–14 April 2023, the event’s venue will remain at Tokyo Big Sight and it is expected that there will be over 1000 exhibitors and around 80,000 visitors.
“As much as we would have loved to bring the event to life this April, we felt it was important to give the participants the full experience befitting for an inaugural event. Moreover, the ease of participation for our international exhibitors are paramount to make it a successful event,” said Makoto Takagi, Managing Director of Koelnmesse, which runs the ISM events.
A slew of other events have been cancelled or rescheduled in recent months due to the infectious Omicron strain of the virus, with Fine Food Australia most recently cancelling its Sydney show.
Registration for ISM Japan will be available closer to the event.
