General Mills recognised by Great Place to Work Australia

General Mills Australia, known for manufacturing food brands including Old El Paso, Latina Fresh, Nature Valley, Betty Crocker and Haagen-Dazs, has been recognised by Great Place to Work for the fifth consecutive year.

The certification extends to both the General Mills Australia corporate office in Melbourne and the Rooty Hill manufacturing facility.

85% of its employees said the company was a great place to work, surpassing the average rating for Australian-based companies, which is a 56% satisfaction rate according to Great Place To Work.

Satisfaction has risen within the company’s manufacturing team, with staff reporting an 81% satisfaction rate, an 8-point improvement from previous year.

Employees working at the business highlighted the business’s commitment to flexible work as a key factor influencing their score. General Mills Australia continues to offer a ‘work where you win’ hybrid working policy, enabling teams to enjoy a 50/50 hybrid work split.

The Great Place to Work Trust Index Survey enables employees to share confidential quantitative and qualitative
feedback about their organisation’s culture by responding to 60 statements on a five-point scale and answering two open-ended questions. Collectively, these statements describe a great employee experience, defined by high levels of trust, respect, credibility, fairness, pride and camaraderie.

Shontel Turner, Director of Human Resources at General Mills said: “This certification is a testament to our people. Our people enable us to create a workplace where every employee feels valued, supported and empowered to thrive.”
