Food Standards Board appoints new Acting Chair

Senior executive Robyn Kruk AO has been appointed as Acting Chair of the Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) Board.

She takes over from Glenys Beauchamp AO PSM, who has served as Chair since September 2021. Kruk will fill the role while a recruitment process for a permanent Chair is completed.

The acting arrangements will maintain stable leadership and ensure continuity for FSANZ, which will continue to operate as usual, with no impact on food standards development or regulatory decision-making.

Kruk’s appointment will serve the entire populations of both countries, who rely on safe, evidence-based food standards, along with the food industry and regulators.

“I thank Ms Glenys Beauchamp for her immense contribution to public administration, food regulation and evidence-based decision-making. Her leadership of the FSANZ Board provided guidance and support during a period of significant regulatory and system reform,” said Assistant Minister Rebecca White MP.

“Her FSANZ service is yet another highlight in an extensive career in the Australian Public Service and complements her contribution on national health, science, community and industry boards.

“I am pleased Ms Robyn Kruk has agreed to step into the role of Acting Chair. She brings a wealth of senior executive experience in the health and social care sectors to the acting position. She has led numerous state and Australian Government agencies and conducted landmark reviews, and I look forward to working closely with her.”

The process to recruit a permanent Chair is expected to commence by late March 2026, with the position to be advertised on APS Jobs.
