Australia's best pie to be crowned at Fine Food Australia
The title of the country’s best pie is up for grabs! Bakers, pastry chefs and baking businesses are being invited to enter the 33rd Great Aussie Pie Competition, as presented by the Aussie Pie Council, which will crown the tastiest and most innovative pastries.
The competition will take place during September’s Fine Food Australia event in Melbourne. It will be judged by a panel of pie professionals and industry experts, with 17 different categories available for entry, including the best plain pie, best apple pie and best gourmet sausage roll, as well as the apprentice category where young chefs can enter their pork pies. More details of the categories are available online.
“We’re excited to share that the major title winner will receive over $20,000 worth of prizes for their business,” said Danielle Lindsay, competition manager. “Even winning gold, silver or bronze offers significant benefits, such as increased sales and promotional opportunities.”
Fine Food Australia runs from 5–8 September at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. It will see a range of companies demonstrating products and techniques, and experts providing masterclasses.
Register for the competition on the Great Aussie Pie Competition website by 21 August.
