APPMA Awards of Excellence to return in 2019
The Australian Packaging and Processing Machinery Association (APPMA) has reinstated its Awards of Excellence, and applications are now open for 2019.
The awards identify excellence, leadership and best practice in Australia’s processing and packaging industry. Applications are open to all five award categories: Best New Product, Customer Collaboration Award, Design Innovation Award, Export Success Award and Imported Equipment Award.
APPMA Chairman Mark Dingley encouraged businesses to enter as many categories as they wish, highlighting the potential benefits for both individuals and the company.
“Finalists and winners will be recognised as industry leaders, which is a great way to raise your business’s profile within our industry and outside our industry to potential customers and investors,” he said.
The awards help businesses grow through better profiling, education and professional development, and award winners can promote themselves using the ‘APPMA Awards of Excellence’ logo.
“Going through the actual entry process offers businesses a fantastic benchmarking opportunity to review their processes and practices, which they’ll then receive feedback on from the judges, as well as industry peers and authorities. We know past finalists and winners have valued this expert, arm’s-length critique as a ‘set of fresh eyes’ to what’s working well along with improvements that can be made,” Dingley said.
The association also plans to announce the finalists and winners at a formal gala awards ceremony dinner, which will provide attendees with networking opportunities.
The Awards of Excellence is a Packaging and Processing Week initiative as part of AUSPACK 2019, held in Melbourne on 26–29 March. Finalists and winners will have an opportunity to showcase their product on the AUSPACK show floor.
Key 2019 submission dates are:
- Applications close: 26 January
- Judging: 28 January–11 February
- Finalists announced: 20 February
- Gala Awards Ceremony: 27 March
Entrants must be an APPMA member (as at 1 July 2018) and/or an exhibitor at AUSPACK 2019. For full award assessment criteria, visit www.auspack.com.au/awards.
