ABB's new leader for food and beverage operations
ABB has announced that Darcy Simonis will lead its food and beverage operations in the position of Industry Network Leader.
Simonis has held a number of roles focusing on the food and beverage industry at Pentair since 2002, and she can draw on this experience in her new role at ABB. Over the next three years, she will develop and strengthen ABB’s global food and beverage business, driving the ambitious growth plan together with the food and beverage country and business leads.
She succeeds Markus Brettschneider, Head of Segment and Account Management, who said her knowledge of the industry with “an OEM’s background and perspective” makes Simonis “well positioned to lead and grow our food and beverage business”.
Simonis will be based in Chicago in the United States, and she said, “I am looking forward to being part of a technology partner which is helping F&B customers power, automate and digitalise their plants, processes and production.
“The food and beverage industry has been slow to adopt digital technologies within the manufacturing process; however, it is our job to educate and inform them on how Industry 4.0 technologies can truly revolutionise processes, improving both efficiency and profitability. Exciting times lie ahead for the industry and I’m pleased to be part of it.”
