Packaging solutions supplier tna will introduce its new high-performance VFFS (vertical form fill seal) bagger at Foodtech Packtech 2012.

Enhancements to the tna robag 3c bagger have produced the tna robag 3ci, which provides up to 30% improvement in both output and reduction in rejects.

The robag 3ci offers throughput rates of up to 250 bpm. New features include the intelli-weigh omega multihead scale, hyper-detect metal detector and flow-through former.

The intelli-weigh omega multihead scale incorporates a number of novel innovations such as digital lattice filters, individually adjustable collating chutes for high-speed discharge and new high-frequency technology to minimise load cell vibrations. The hyper-detect metal detector includes the company’s patented technology and optimised design to provide what the company claims is the highest-performance metal detector on the market. The flow-through former has been developed to maximise the area inside the tube for uninhibited product flow with a 30% reduction in weight.

With improved modularity and core component capability, the robag 3ci is also completely upgradeable to any combination of jaw size or configuration (rotary single, double, triple or rotary flat jaw), giving flexibility of bag size, type and application on a single system.

Other design highlights include a robust 15″ screen for increased ease of operation and a simplified film system providing easy threading with more consistent tension for improved film handling and tracking.

Suitable for high volumes of sweet and savoury snacks, confections, cereals, pasta, powders, meat and poultry, and fresh and frozen produce, the robag 3ci can be fully integrated up and downstream onto existing packaging lines.
