Slight contact with a common solvent can render standard safety glass lenses unsafe, due to a change in the structural integrity caused by the solvent. However, the Trivex lens material allows contact with solvents without compromising the impact resistance or clarity of the safety lens.
The lens combines the impact resistance of polycarbonate (standard safety lenses) with the superior optical properties of regular prescription lenses. It is completely resistant to common solvents - even under extreme stress - and has less chromatic aberration than polycarbonate.
The lenses are also less reflective than polycarbonate, resulting in clearer, safer vision for the wearer. Trivex has a low density, allowing it to be made thinner, lighter and more comfortable.
