GM maize has no adverse effects on human health, says EFSA
The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has released a report stating that genetically modified maize has no adverse effects on human and animal health or the environment.
In the Post-Market Environmental Monitoring (PMEM) report for the 2010 cultivation season of genetically modified maize MON810, the EFSA’s Panel on Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO Panel) concluded that the GM maize did not have a negative impact on health or the environment, and that the outcomes of the report corroborate the findings on MON810 cultivation for the 2009 season.
