Sync, streamline and share your product data

Everyone in the food and grocery industry knows how time-consuming it is to ensure your organisation is meeting all the relevant regulations. Streamlining data management and de-risking compliance saves your company time and money, not to mention the odd headache.

That’s why industry leaders have developed the PIF V6. It’s online, up to date and covers all the latest food regulations.

In a single searchable document, PIF V6 eliminates the V5 Excel-based spreadsheets, and structures all the standardised information you need to maintain and share with trading partners.

Making compliance easier

If you’re still using PIF V5, you’re missing out on a unified electronic document that captures:

  • all the new requirements under the revised Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code
  • the Country of Origin labelling requirements — so you no longer need to worry about the AFGC CoOL PIF addendum
  • nutrition, health and related claims including Health Star Ratings
  • clearer sections on allergens to improve allergen traceability
  • data on VITAL and international allergens
  • simplified fields on Genetically Modified ingredients.

With PIF V6, food companies now have a single document that meets their information needs for legal and regulatory compliance in Australia and New Zealand, in a standardised manner.

Affordable and efficient PIF portal

To access an online PIF V6, all you need to do is get your own PIF portal. You’re then all set to store, manage and share your online PIFs with trading partners.

Bizcaps PIF Manager™ was the first licensed online PIF portal solution incorporating the Australian Food & Grocery Council’s Electronic Food Data System, and the only Australian made and owned solution.

PIF Manager is a secure web-based portal and repository where you can easily manage the setup, storage, search and sharing of PIFs directly with your customers and suppliers. It supports food suppliers and their customers across Australia, New Zealand and Asia. Bizcaps has worked closely with the industry’s early adopters to develop an intuitive new User Interface - so PIF Manager works the way you do.

PIF Manager’s new simplified pricing plans are a low annual access fee and a very affordable monthly usage fee based on the number of PIFs used in your business.

Competitive advantage

Kieran Fox is director of Quality Partners food safety, quality and compliance consultancy and loves the advantages PIF V6 has to offer food companies.

Fox says one of the greatest time-savers of PIF V6 is the fact you can warehouse documents to your PIF.

“Attachments and certificates will then travel with the PIF, and when you update them, you always have the current version at hand. Once you attach a document to a PIF, every time you duplicate that PIF (such as for a new flavour with the same ingredients) all the attachments are automatically duplicated. This saves hours and also all the chaos that comes when you’re not sure where the current version of important documents are,” Fox said.

“When working in the Quality Partners’ PIF Manager portal with clients and manufacturers from around the world, we love that that with a click of a button we can have someone in New Zealand or China log into the system and we can both be collaborating on the current version at the same time. All the documents are in the cloud and everyone granted permission can access the most up-to-date version.”

Easier data management

So many food manufacturers and distributors using PIF V6 are thrilled to see the end of trying to organise valuable product and ingredient information in Excel spreadsheets — not to mention no more fiddly and painstaking copying and pasting to get the data into a PIF V5 or a Recipe Management System.

With PIF V6 you can:

  • send encrypted PIF V6s to your trading partners direct from the portal, including to multiple customers either all at once or with customer-specific Product Codes
  • automatically add all relevant data associated with an ingredient, such as Country of Origin or Allergens data, to a finished product PIF V6 without re-entering any data
  • quickly see where, when and to whom PIFs have been sent, as well as which PIFs you’re due to receive

“Our PIF V6 portal means we have all the data we need in the system ready to go, so we can send a PIF V6 to our customers with the click of one button. This improves our data management, as information is well-organised and saved in one place, accessible and secure, and up to date for sharing.”
