Intermediate bulk containers (IBCs) have always had one clear advantage over steel drums - volume. An IBC on a pallet holds 1000 L, whereas in the same space, four steel drums only hold a total of 820 L. Now Schutz’s new KEB blow moulder and clean room facility are increasing the advantages offered by plastic-based IBCs.

Schütz DSL has installed a multi-layer blow moulding machine specifically designed to produce a co-extruded 3- and 6-layer HDPE (high density polyethylene) inner bottle, in its Victorian plant.

Fresco 1000 L customised IBCs
Fresco has designed and manufactured customised bins. At a capacity of 1000 L, the bins are used to store and move blended product around in the critical hygiene area of the factory between the mill, the blenders and the packing lines. The full stainless steel construction, completely polished internally, allows cleaning via wet washing/sterilisation, avoiding product contamination between batches.
