Taura Natural Ingredients has launched URC Inclusions, a range of ingredients that combines ancient grains and Ultra Rapid Concentrated (URC) fruit and vegetables. The range may allow manufacturers to create products that contain customised blends of ancient grains - such as quinoa, amaranth and chia - with pure concentrated fruit and vegetables. It is designed for applications in the snack, bakery, breakfast cereal and confectionery categories.
Ancient grains are gaining a positive reputation among consumers for their taste and nutritional content. Data from Mintel’s Global New Product Database shows that new product launches have increased considerably in recent years.
As well as ancient grains, the range can incorporate crisped rice and cereals to create texture and sweet options such as chocolate. In addition, the range is suitable for functional ingredients such as probiotics and prebiotics.
