Exair has released the Reversible Drum Vac system, available from Compressed Air Australia. Unlike electrically operated all-purpose vacuums, which are not designed for use in industrial environments and can be susceptible to motor wear and impeller clogging, the Drum Vac system is compressed air powered and has no motors or impellers to clog or wear out.
Exair claims that maintenance on its drum vacuum will be reduced as it does not use electricity and does not have moving parts.
The drum vacuum system is supplied with a two-way pump assembly, 3 m static resistant hose, 6 m compressed air hose, heavy-duty tools, spill recovery kit, tool holder and 205 L drum dolly. An automatic safety shutoff valve prevents spills or overfilling.
Exair says the high-powered vacuum can fill a 205 L drum within 2 min. The stainless steel pump is simply controlled by a knob that can also control the flow rate in and out of the drum, making it suitable for dispensing liquids.
