A range of IP69K-rated safety light curtains and grids has been introduced by ifm effector.
The safety light curtains and grids are designed to provide a protective optical barrier between plant personnel and unsafe equipment and dangerous areas. The curtains can be used for perimeter guarding, access prevention and point-of-operation guarding.
Housed in a robust PMMA transparent tubing, ifm's safety light curtains and grids carry an enclosure rating of IP69K and are resistant to high-pressure cleaning and steam.
The units feature a heater element coupled with sealing O-rings to prevent moisture build-up inside the tubing and easy mounting using the integrated tabs. Highly visible LEDs provide status, set-up and troubleshooting indication and an attached PVC cable enables quick connection. The light curtains are shipped fully assembled, bringing down total installation costs.
For application flexibility, products offered include safety light curtains with 14 or 30 mm resolution and light grids with 2, 3 or 4 beams. Both Type 2/SIL 2 and Type 4/SIL 3 versions are available.
