Ishida has replaced the conventional lead X-ray shielding curtain with a new environmentally friendly protective curtain.
Previously, the company used lead as the best shielding material but now, with SI Kasei, a lead-free protection curtain with tungsten has been developed, claimed to be the first in the world.
The new curtain is about half the lead curtain in thickness, which reduces the damage on inspection product significantly when it passes through.
