Pactum Dairy Group has signed a strategic supply agreement with Chinese company Bright Dairy.

Part of the Freedom Foods Group, Pactum Dairy Group (PDG) has recently commissioned a new $45 million UHT dairy beverage facility in Shepparton for the manufacture of high value-added dairy beverages for key customers in China and south-east Asia.

Under the strategic supply agreement, PDG will provide Bright Dairy with long-term supply of value-added milk products in UHT packaging formats.

“We are pleased to be aligned with what is recognised as a market-leading, high-quality company with the resources and capability to market and distribute premium dairy products,” said Rory Macleod, managing director of Freedom Foods.

“PDG will look to further build on its relationship with Bright Dairy in the longer term as it expands its product and market presence.”

One of China’s largest dairy producers, Bright Dairy produces fresh milk, yoghurt, cheese and powdered milk, which are distributed throughout China through 400 distributors and more than 400,000 sales outlets. Total sales in the 2013 financial year were US$2.6 billion.
